About Us

         We are representatives of the Non-Profit Organization of the Seaport Shockers Sports Entertainment, INC which is an organization founded by Rochelle Hines to assist our communities with redirecting the attention of our youth from the elements of drugs and gangs and all forms of illegal activities and self destructive actions to positive and productive opportunities and choices.

We offer alternative solutions to the effects of peer pressure by instilling self worth in our youth by encouraging individuality and responsibility and team concepts. We instill Christian Values and practical truths to assist our youth with understanding that they have the power to succeed by making good choices and that whatever they choose today will determine their destiny.

 Basketball is just one element that we use to capture the attention of our young people. We have discovered that young people do want to be corrected and redirected, but they need to know that they are accepted and loved unconditionally. With all of this, we still manage to present the competitive elements of the sport as we assist with the development of each athlete’s abilities and life skills.

The Seaport Shockers believe that to prepare our youth for the challenges of the future, we must provide them with diverse experiences. These diverse experiences will help make them well rounded and diversified individuals. Participation in athletics teaches our children the important skills needed to be disciplined, good team players and individual competitors. This sets the foundation for developing the skills they will need to help them succeed in life.

Our Mission is to recruit, develop and retain excellent athletes, quality parents and knowledgeable coaches who display good sportsmanship, positive attitudes and unquestioned ethics in the pursuit of basketball EXCELLENCE!  In addition, we want to promote, advise and assist in the spiritual, social, academic and athletic development of individual players in their pursuit of athletic and academic scholarships.

To promote our mission our Motto for the Seaport Shockers Basketball Team is the PHD Factor: Perseverance, Hardwork, and Dedication.

The Vision we share is to be a program that is committed and hardworking to enable every athlete to reach his or her full potential by giving them the proper guidance and putting them in the right situations to achieve their goals.
